Calibration Process Steps
Step-I:
-
We follow a reference method to calibrate the low-cost air quality monitors.
-
A BAM 1020 is used as a reference monitor for calibration.
Step-II:
Low-cost monitors are co-located with the BAM 1020 monitor
for a minim of 05 to 06 days. The measurements collected are
used to develop a calibration factor which is applied
to the low-cost sensor data.
Step-III:
-
A linear regression model is applied to the measurements to derive the calibration factor.
-
The results (R2) are examined to determine if they meet the minimum performance criteria. The minimum performance criteria being followed is: R2 > 0.70 and data recovery: > 75%.
Step-IV:
Low-cost monitors which do not meet the minimum performance criteria are sent to Skymet’s Instrumentation Division to check for any defects in the senor.
